Once payment is made, all orders are processed as soon as possible. As a handcrafted, artisan self-care brand, we prioritise quality and make our products in small batches, with some products, such as our self-care candles, being made to order. Everything is also hand-assembled and hand-packaged, too! As a result, it may take around 3-10 days (depending on demand) for us to process and despatch your order. Once it is despatched, you will receive a notification to the email address you provided at the checkout, along with a reference number. We use Royal Mail 2nd class delivery, which means once posted, your order should reach you in 2-3 working days including Saturdays.

Orders placed on Thursday evening & Friday may not be processed until Monday due to weekend business hours.

The majority of our products have a shelf life of one year upon creation (unless stated otherwise on the label). Being natural ingredients with no use of artificial preservatives, the shelf life very much depends on the storage conditions, especially temperature and exposure to light and air. This is very important when dealing with products that contains ingredients such as essential oils. Therefore, the best before date must be considered subjective: the date we provide is based on the product being stored under recommended conditions (which is limited exposure to light in a cool environment).
Also, due to the natural ingredients contained within the products, there may be a slight batch-to-batch variation in the colour, odour and consistency. However this is simply due to them all being made by hand.
For example: If you suddenly find that your Moonstone Balm appears slightly crystallised or grainy, this is due to the balm melting and solidifying at a slower rate. There is no issue with the product, it has simply been stored in a warm environment.
Each product has a meticulous formulation, so this does not alter the quality or efficacy of the product whatsoever.
Due to the lack of artificial preservatives within our skin range, it is essential that the products do not come into contact with water (inside the jar), as this will create the growth of mould. The preservative that we use in our products is pure and natural Vitamin E. Products that have a chance of being near or exposed to water will come with a complimentary wooden spatula for you to use.
At Veil of Gaia, your safety and wellbeing is of utmost importance to us. While most of our products are made with natural ingredients, it is still recommended that your performa a 24 hour patch test with any products you feel that you may have some sensitivity to, especially if you are prone to reactions from oils or essential oils.
All of our products are made in a clean and safe environment, but due to them being handcrafted, ingredients will come into contact with each other. Because of this, we highly recommend that those with allergies take each ingredient into consideration and to look into these risks.
Quite a lot of our products contain nut oil (such as sweet almond etc.) and all of our products have been made in an environment exposed to nuts. Therefore, unfortunately, we would not recommend our products to be suitable for those with nut allergies.
It is always important to look into the ingredients of the products you buy, which is also why we are so transparent about ours! This is so you can carefully assess what you are using.
This is particularly important when it comes to pregnancy, too. While many essential oils can have excellent properties for expectant mothers, it is extremely important that some are to be avoided during pregnancy due to high concentration levels. We highly recommend being aware of the essential oils not to be used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. As an example, we have comprised a list of those to be avoided, although it is certainly not exhaustive:Almond(bitter)/Aniseed/Basil/Black pepper/Cedarwood/Cinnamon/Clary Sage/Clove/Cypress/Fennel/Ginger/Jasmine/Juniper/Lemongrass/Mugwort/Myrrh/Nutmeg/Oregano/Parsley/Peppermint/Pine/Rosemary/Sage/Stinging nettle/Thyme etc.
